Hello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Chris and I am a father, software architect, manager, and keen cyberloafer. I\u2019m a semi-rabid Newcastle Knights member and fan. I also follow the San Francisco Giants in MLB. I adore board gaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professionally, I currently work as the lead software engineer at Mawson Rovers<\/a> writing software in the web and embedded spaces in support of amazing orbital missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In previous career iterations I had the distinct pleasure of being a technical lead and system architect for the Netpage<\/a> augmented reality application and also a technical lead at Atlassian<\/a>, working as part of the Confluence wiki<\/a> team. I returned seven years later to lead the architecture of Atlassian\u2019s new Confluence and Jira mobile apps before trying my hand at engineering management in the Jira Service Management product group. In ages past I was the webmaster and applications developer at the CSIRO<\/a>, Australia Telescope National Facility<\/a>. Yes, I even got to use an array of six radio telescopes \u2014 and I didn’t damage a thing. Much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the 2010 Australian Federal Elections I stood as a Secular Party<\/a> candidate<\/a> for the federal electorate of Sydney and in 2013 I was the party’s number two Senate candidate in NSW. Please take some time to read my announcement of candidacy<\/a>. I served as a delegate on the party\u2019s National Executive for three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blog is chiefly an outlet for me on topics such as politics, science, technology, software engineering and video games. It may even at times be funny; I won’t make any guarantees as to which type of funny though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
